TVA River System Operations

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) manages dams, locks, and reservoirs along the Tennessee River and its tributaries. Their work ensures flood control, navigation, power generation, water quality, recreation, and economic growth throughout the region. 

Please note: Water release schedules can change without notice due to weather or power demand.

Licensing & Boating

Fishing Licenses & Boating Regulations (Tennessee)

Fishing:  Purchase licenses online through the TWRA website, at county clerk offices, or participating marinas.

Boating: All mechanically powered vessels and sailboats primarily used in Tennessee must be registered. Out-of-state boats may operate temporarily if Tennessee is not their principal state of use.
